Through the combined efforts of Subic EnerZone Corporation's (SEZ) Transmission and Distribution (T&D) and Substation (SEED) departments, the 25 MVA Cubi Substation located at the Building 8090, Argonaut Highway, Lower Cubi was energized last October 26.
One of the Distribution Management Services Agreement (DMSA) initiated projects, the undertaking was a show of pure dedication, perseverance, and commitment that has always been a Subic EnerZone trademark.
Led by two tireless workhorses Dodong Gumba from T&D and Dindo Pantinople from SEED, crews worked for extended hours everyday just to ensure up-to-date and on-time status of the individual works in the said project.
Power cable lay-out, cable terminations, and control/protection wirings were completed by the SEZ substation personnel by 2nd week of October. The 15kV substation take-off and by-pass structure, and the incoming 69 kV line were done by the T&D group led by lineman Hazael “George” Bayquen, who was imported from Davao Light and Power Company (DLPC).
Testing and commissioning started on the third week of October, paralleled with the finishing works on the substation equipment. Joe Mascardo, also from DLPC, was a big help in the completion of this work.
The project was given a two-year timeline to be completed, and the achievement was a testimony to the relentless effort of SEZ in delivering quality world-class service inside the Subic Bay Freeport Zone. |
