TO provide simplicity, flexibility, and reliability of electric supply for Subic Techno Park, Subic EnerZone Corporation (SEZ) improved its 27.5 MVA Maritan Substation.
Formerly known as “Eco-Asia Substation”, it supplies electric power for one of the biggest industrial areas in the freeport zone. The project's main objective is to simplify the existing feeder configuration of the switching station at Building 1800 and to transfer these feeders to the Maritan Substation take-off structures.
Jethrock Construction spearheaded the project. The scope of their work was to construct two (2) cable trenches and two (2) take-off structures for the feeders. It started last July 1 and will be finished on October 28.
Meanwhile, rehabilitation of substation 516 located at Leyte Wharf was done last July 12.
The undertaking was done to restore the existing switchgear of the said substation. Re-painting and installation of new roofing and framing for the switchgear to protect it from weather condition changes was awarded to Triple J Builders.
Another on-going project is the rehabilitation, replacement of transformers, and installation of new overhead lines for station No. 11 at the Ship Repair Facilities (SRF) area.
The project aims to give two supplies of electrical power for the area. The first supply will come from the existing underground feeders while the other is from the new overhead lines being constructed.
This will improve the efficiency of the system. The project, which was awarded to FIS Builders, started last August 6 and is still on-going up to the present.
