“Are the employees in the dark about your company’s goals?”
That was the question raised that served as the purpose of the Success Factor Goal Management Workshop.
Facilitated by Aboitiz Equity Ventures (AEV) VP for Human Resources Nancy Lim, it was held at Subic EnerZone Corporation’s (SEZ) admin building conference room last April 7.
Thirteen team leaders of the three EnerZones attended the event headed by the companies’ SVP and COO Dante Pollescas. Irwin Pagdalian, AVP & GM of Mactan EnerZone (MEZ) and Balamban EnerZone (BEZ) was also there, together with Edgar Caluza, SEZ Admin & Customer Service Department Manager; Herbert Cabatingan, MEZ/BEZ Finance & Admin OIC Manager; Corinne Manalo, SEZ Finance and Accounting Supervisor; Justin Jay Navarro, SEZ Substation and Electrical Engineering Department Supervisor; Frederick Coronel, SEZ Performance Based Regulatory Supervisor; Yolanda Cawagas, SEZ Customer Service Department Supervisor; Ryan Griva SEZ Transmission & Distribution team leader; Mario Gabunilas, BEZ Technical Operations Supervisor; Ronald Allan Petilo, MEZ Technical Operations Supervisor; Mars Escobar, HR Head for all EnerZones; and Ava-Lou Perez, MEZ/BEZ HR Specialist.
Objectives of the workshop are: to develop a common understanding of goals, sub-goals and their success indicators; to develop common success factors as a management goal tool; to familiarize with the balanced scorecard; and to align the team members’ individual goals with their team leaders.
Participants were tasked to write down their goals aligned to the goals of the SVP & COO. Sub-goals will specify end results, state target dates and measure the success. Ms. Lim introduced how the success factor program works and its advantages for everyone.
At the end of the workshop, the attendees were presented with the strategic goals of the EnerZones President Jaime Jose Aboitiz. This is to understand how Pollescas came up with his own set of goals.
Ms. Lim ended her presentation with the saying from Edward Demming, “When you measure you can understand, when you understand you can control, when you can control you can improve, and when you can improve you can achieve.”
